Just after dinner, everyone was now going back to the dormitories and Gryffindor was no exception. As the halls grew dim, most students head to their beds and sleep, but Harry, Ron and Hermione aren't "most students". They stay up late in the gryffindor common room. Ron and Harry play a game of wizard's chess as Hermione watched another one of Ron's "glorious victories". As you know, Ron always beats Harry in chess, so this comes to no surprise to Hermione. " Well, I'm hitting the hay, g'night." Harry said. "Good night." They both reply.
Hermione climbed up to the girl's dormitory and lied on her bed. As she started to fall asleep, thoughts of confusion flooded her subconscious. "I can't take it!" she thought. She got out of bed, climbed down the stairs to the common room. The only source of light now was the fireplace. She sat on the over-stuffed couch right beside the hearth. The fire made her feel calm, but she still was puzzled. She had been Ron's friend since 1st year, but now she thinks of him more than a friend. She loved him but she wasn't sure if he liked her back. A solitary tear fell from her eyes. " You don't look good when you cry." She turned to see who it was. It was Ron.
"Oh, umm"
"Why are you crying, Hermione?"
"What! I. I'm not crying?"
Ron rolled his eyes. He sat next to Hermione.
"You can tell me anything, you know that."
He put his arm around her; this made Hermione's face feel hot. She wanted to tell him how she felt. It was the perfect time nonetheless she didn't say a word.
Ron looked out the window and saw the stars glimmer in the night sky. He got up and walked toward the window. " I had a dream last night," Ron muttered " I was soaring through the star-lit sky. It was so beautiful. But I felt disappointed."
"Why?" Hermione mumbled.
" Because I couldn't find a star bright enough to give to you, they were all so dull compared to you." Ron replied, with a smile on his face.
" I never knew how to say this but… I've loved you since the day I met you."
Hermione's eyes filled with tears as Ron said those words. He came close to her and kissed her gently on the cheek. " Will you love me back?" he asked.
"Ofcourse"
