Oh, My Querida

Chapter 1: Facing the past
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters in my story; those belong to Meg Cabot and to the Mediator Series. I do own the story line though.
Sitting in one of the most uncomfortable seats in the New York National Airways. I was in my own world…staring at nothing particularly. I am just so nervous of going back to where it all happened and face the ones I loved. Back to Carmel, California with my new friend Allie who befriended me when I first came back. That was three years ago. I spent a little time with Gina but she left to get married to a man she'd been with since her Senior Year. She moved to…. Figures…a little town near Carmel, California. When she'd come to visit me when I lived there, she loved the weather so she moved there with her husband, but she promised not to tell where I was.
No one could find out where I was. That's how I wanted it, and now I have to go back and the reason…for a friggin' company picnic and a "shopping" vacation. I work for the Paranormal Activities FBI. Since I am a Mediator, they gave me the job. My friend Allie, who just so happens to be a Mediator too, is my partner. She isn't a Shifter like me, but I still don't consider myself one either.
I put a lot of that behind me…and now it's all coming back. As I sat there, staring at the air and reliving my happiness that got taken away from me and why I left, hoping to never return. Those memories that took so long to forget.
"Hey our flights boarding, Suze, we gotta go. Suze? Earth to Suze! Come in Suze!" Allie, said while waving her hands in front of my face. That's when it all hit me. We were going, and right now. I started to slowly stand up but my knees gave away. Seriously. Me. My knees gave away. That seems really childish but with what all I would have to face again. Who I would see again, this was nothing.
I am lucky I didn't faint. Or worse, die right then. Allie helped me out of the seat and helped with my luggage as we went onto the plain. I took my seat, and within a half hour we were off in the air. That's when, yes, Suze Simon started crying. I cried until I fell asleep. I woke up about two hours later and we were landing. We were in Carmel Air Port. I just hope that the two weeks that we are going to be here, that I don't run into a few people from my past. The past I ran from.
Ha. This is actually a short chapter but please review! None of you would be able to guess what happened! I wonder what it is…hehehe! REVIEW PLZ!
