People say that when you are close to dying your whole flashes before your eyes. For Boone Carlisle this was true.

The good times were there, but they seemed to quickly pass by. The bad ones however, hung around like a fog. He saw himself teasing Shannon, trying to cover up his massive crush. He saw himself teasing a classmate who had considerably less then he did, just so that he could feel powerful. He saw himself sitting on the beach, here on this island watching Saiyid and his obvious fixation on Shannon, hating every minute of it.

He hated how for one moment he got everything he could ever want and then have it all taken away just as fast. He had Shannon, the girl he had been in love with since their parent's married, he had her both physically as well as mentally or so he thought. She saw what they had done as a moment of weakness, a struggle that she didn't want to fight anymore.

But as time went on and he started to adjust to the island he saw what Shannon had said was right. She never would have been happy with him.

"Tell Shannon..." Boone tried to get the rest of the sentence out, but he ran out of breath half way through

Tell Shannon to be happy. He thought

"Tell Shannon..." he tried again but he didn't have enough life left.

There at 6:03 am his heart stopped and the girl who once held it would never know that she was his last thought.
