Winter Nights In The Gryffindor's Common Room
Snow is falling outside the window, like sugary cornflakes at breakfast in the morning. Only this time the 'milk' was the deep blue sky, and the cornflakes ice-cold. Amazingly, even on such a cold and hibernation-inducing night, the Gryffindor Common Room in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a hive of activity, the hustle and bustle of the place generally enthusing about this coming Christmas, two days later.
In one dark and shady corner of the common room is Sirius Black; resident Casanova of the Hogwarts population, currently snogging his one-night-stand's brains out.
James Potter, on the other hand, was lying down on a couch with his head on Lily Evans' lap, talking with Remus Lupin on something that was unfathomable to anyone but themselves. Lily Evans, ever the bookworm, was reading a book that looked about as thick as the libraries' shelf.
Peter Pettigrew was stuffing himself with food filched by from the kitchen by the fireplace, drawing disgusted looks from people all around him. His watery eyes were filled with glee at the sight of all the Christmas goodies prepared by the house-elves.
Christmas turns even the darkest personalities (Peter) into cheerful pigs, Quidditch fanatic (James) into laidback guy, though perhaps a Casanova will always stay one…(Sirius)
