Summary: She had cried herself dry for Pete; her tears were guilt-filled, and for him. A drabble set during 'Father's Day'. A little bit of angst, a little bit of romance.
Rose closed her eyes, attempting to block the world out. Tried to ignore the car screech and the thud as her father hit the ground.
Her mind was attempting to grasp the fact that the Doctor was gone. Wiped out, leaving no trace of himself behind, apart from a now-useless key.
Her dad was gone, and now the Doctor was too. The most important men in her life had left her, saving the world as they did so.
She was completely unaware of the swiftly approaching Time Lord, too upset to pay attention to her surroundings. When he had laid a hand on her shoulder, she had been torn between yelling at him for scaring her and hugging him out of relief. He stared at her, misreading the look in her eyes completely. She had cried herself dry for Pete; her tears were guilt-filled, and for him.
Much later in the TARDIS, her mouth curled upwards and the flood of tears stopped. Her gaze travelled from the stars outside to the man at her side. Her dad was gone, but he wasn't. They weren't alone, after all.
