This is the reposting of a fic that got removed because it had song lyrics in it. They are gone now.

HELLO! Okay, this is my first story so please be gentle! Any reviews on how to improve my writing will be accepted, just none that say "YOU SUCK!" 'kay?

On with the story! Oh yeah, I don't own X-men: Evolution (if I did, why would I be here instead of making new episodes?) and I don't own the song "Desperately" (its great though).

PS. I know the accents suck. Bear with me. This takes place sometime after Cajun Spice.

"Remy...Remy...You awake?" The Cajun shifted in his bed and rolled over. He gazed into the green-eyed angel next to him.

" 'M now cherie. You can wake Remy any time, long as he gets t' see such a belle fille when he wakes up," replied Remy with his sexy smile.

"Ya never give up do ya, swamp rat?" replied Rogue with a grin. She started to lean in for a kiss and--

"Remy LeBeau! Tante Mattie says to get yo' butt outta bed NOW! We're all leaving." Henri LeBeau shouted through the bedroom door before making his way out of the house.

Remy sat in bed, his red on black eyes scanning the room. "Another dream," he muttered with a sigh.

Remy got up, dressed and made his way down to the kitchen. As his brother had said, everyone had left and the house was empty. Remy turned on the coffee maker and listened to the radio while he waited. He concentrated on the music, anything to get his mind of his dream...and her.

He decided to spend the afternoon wandering around New Orleans. He couldn't stay to be in his father's house long periods of time. 'Den why 'm I still staying dere?' Remy questioned himself. 'Why didn't I go back t' New York 'stead of staying' in New Orleans?' Thoughts of New York led to thoughts of Bayville and the Acolytes, which led Remy to think of the X-men...and her.

"Non," murmured Remy to himself. "Don't do dat t' yourself homme. She don' want ya. Rogue deserves better den someone who lies t' her and uses her."

Remy rode his motorcycle down to the river and sat on the bank watching the reds, pinks, and oranges of sunset fading into the deep blue of night. He ran a hand through his tousled hair and sighed. "Why can't I get ya off m' mind, cherie?" He asked out loud. "I've never felt dis way bout a fille before."

The silence was deafening. "All right," Remy proclaimed to the open air around him, "I'll flip a coin. Heads, I stay in dis hell wit' m' family. Tails, I go t' Bayville and tell Rogue I love her."

" I love her," he repeated softly, in an amazed voice as he watched the coin go up and down. He stared at his clenched hand that held his fate.

1 week later, at the mansion

"Hey Rogue!" said Kitty as she came into their shared room.

"What?" The girl replied, not even glancing up from her book.

"You, like, got mail. But here's the best part: its, like, anonymous! You got a secret admirer none of us know about?" asked Kitty with a sly smile.

Rogue silenced her with a glare. She inspected the envelope; it was plain, no markings except her name. Her curiosity getting the better of her, she tore it open. Rogue smiled and Kitty looked on, confused. A single playing card had fallen out. The Queen of Hearts.

That's it folks! How'd you like it? Remember, there's a great little button down there to answer that question!
