A/N: First drabble-thingy. Or near drabble. Whatever. Short-thingy! There. It... just... appeared in my mind out of nowhere during social studies... And for once, I was actually working, too! pouts
Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts. ...And, damn it, it's NOT a drug-trip!
Warning(s): Um. Somewhat slashy. But not really. Barely there. Seriously. About as slashy as the video game itself. No, wait. Less.
"Trust"

"Ri-Riku?" Sora stuttered his friend's name, blue eyes widening in surprise.
"Sora." Riku took a step towards his once best friend.
He shook his head, taking a step back. The boy spoke, his voice low and colder than he meant it to be, "How... do I know I can trust you?"
Aquamarine eyes lowered to the ground, and his silver hair fell in front of his face. Riku held back his tears, knowing there was immense truth to what the brunette was saying. "You don't," he explained, his voice strained and full of hurt.
"Then, how... can I trust you?"
He kept his eyes focused on the ground, crystalline tears now flowing freely from them. He expected this from Sora, but it still hurt.
"...Riku?"
"You can't." Fully aware that if he left then, he may have never seen his precious Sora again, Riku turned around and began to walk away.
Unsure of what to do, Sora raised his arm to grab the retreating teen, but stopped, quickly lowering his arm back down to his side. "Riku..." Sora's voice seemed... worried?
He broke out into a run, knowing he'd only hurt the blue-eyed brunette more if he stayed.
"Wait!" the younger one called, but didn't more. "Riku! I trust you!"
But it was too late.
A/N: Shortest thing I've ever written? Why, yes, it is. I was thinking of adding to it, but I was lazy. Maybe I'll write another small thing where they meet again, and this time Riku doesn't run. How does that sound? ...Er... Review.
