"Tis' the darkest glyph thou barest; it sacrifices stray souls to summon unearthly force.

Unearthly force shall obey and serve thee; Tis' named Chaos Legion.

His Next Mission

Sieg Wahrheit sat aimlessly at the edge of the lake near his headquarters. He sat there for a very long time, all the while thinking of absolutely nothing; absolute blankness. Finally, he was victorious. His own definition of "victorious" did not include killing childhood friends. He had spent much time since that fateful day where his partner had betrayed him. No matter what the circumstances, he should not have died. He had attacked Sieg under possession and had killed their binding source of light, Siela; a love mutual to both of them. Delacroix after all of his endeavors to destroy Sieg for his Sin was finally awakened to the dark truth that he had been responsible for her death; and he plunged himself to his death.

Sieg had faced both of his comrades in the same hour. Delacroix's hateful words still rang in his head. "The sinner shall be atoned, although no punishment will be enough for your sin." Now he had this new sin, the greatest sin of all to atone for. He had no one to go to, no one to help him or punish him for his sins. There was no redeemer and he would have to live with guilt until the end of his days. Or was his sin to be atoned for in a different way; much worse than death?

Though Headquarters still felt pretty bad for Sieg, work had to continue; they just could not sympathize with him. He was the only person left in his field. Not only was he the best Legionairre, but he was now the only. It was not long until they gave Sieg a new assignment.

The assignment was going to be difficult, even by Sieg's standards. It was a complete mystery that would need to be investigated. An entire village of people had been wiped out. Murder was an uncommon case for Headquarters, as it was dealt with in more "appropriate" fashions. However, what bothered them most is that there was a single trail of blood leading from the entrance to the exit of the village. Death was everywhere surrounding this trail; in an almost gruesome symmetry. The man would have had to kill the entire village from that exact trail. It did not break from the entrance all the way to the exit, and the distance of the killings was beyond any length of even the deadliest of firearms.

Sieg was summoned immediately. He was told to "expect the unexpected," but he did not have to; he could recognize the signs from a mile away. The culprit was a fellow Legionairre. What's more was that this unknown man had used the same spirits that Sieg had come to possess. Sieg told his boss that the murders had been committed by a Legion who had sniped anyone who approached the man; who had apparently been bleeding pretty badly by the looks of the trail.

The tension was fierce. Another person was out there with the same soul-harvesting talents. Why would he have to take out someone like him? What if this man was under the same burdens of life? Maybe they were not too different. It could not matter less to headquarters how Sieg felt about his mission. Sieg started for this "Village of Death" with his Legions ready at his disposal. His bloodstained cape fluttered in the wind. This foul wind blew him towards his destination. It was as if the damned were calling him forth to his goal. He could not remember how long it took him to get there; he began to automatically move his feet, immersed in his own private world of pain.
