"Chimera" (season 7)
Summary: The past can be healed by the present.
A/N:
Okay, so it could border on a ficlet. Don't ask me where I came
up with something this tame and het. I don't know. :-P As
always, thanks to the ever awesome Teza for beta'ing it.
The
memories Osiris left behind are clearer some nights rather than
others. Those nights, Sarah's room becomes too lonely so she
slips
into Daniel's; he is her stability in the aftermath of her own long
sleep. Daniel lets her curl up against him, wrapping an arm
around her with a tenderness he'd thought long gone; the memory of
her lost and vulnerable and pleading for forgiveness for
events
beyond her control is still with him, and she is his salvation, the
one he could save. Neither of them speak the first time they
kiss:
their eyes communicate everything for them in one intense gaze.
Every time after that they let their eyes show their emotions:
the
lack of that tell-tale glow in hers speaks volumes; that his eyes
meet hers, unlike so many others with their fear, tells a tale; their
mirrored gazes are two halves of a perfect whole.
