Passion Play

By: Midnight Tango

Disclaimer: No- I know this will come as a shock to you all but I actually do not own Phantom of the Opera. There- I have no officially depressed myself. Please leave a note on your way out. Bows and disappears in a puff of red smoke.

A solitary note flutters through the air

I catch a glimpse of an icy blue stare

The piano keys rest beneath my pale hand

A lone sigh escapes as I move to stand

Only a glance from the one I desire

And already my heart is playing with fire

Sooner or later I'm bound to get burned

And this lesson, I should have already learned

We walk around as if stepping on glass

I wonder when these false games will pass

Caught up in some exotic dance

With fire and passion but only one chance

Will our love stand the heat of this game?

Or will our feelings get caught in the flame

I silently walk to where my love sits

Azure eyes watch from behind porcelain slits

What thoughts race behind the silent façade?

Where his ideas and dreams are made

I hope somehow that his solitude will sway

But until then I must walk away

For if I am caught in the midst of the gaze

My world will darken and become misted with haze

I'll open my mouth with nothing to say

And realize I'm caught in this passion play.
