Staring Is Rude
"You're staring." Neela told Ray.
"What? No I'm not." Ray lied.
"Yeah, you were." Neela said. "It's rude you know." She added.
"Really, I wasn't staring." Ray tried to convince Neela.
"I know what staring is Ray. And you were doing it."
"So?" He asked.
"It's rude." She said again trying to make her point.
"What do you want?" Ray asked her.
"I dunno. Just thought I'd tell you." Neela told him.
"Well, sorry. I won't do it again."
"I never said you had to stop."
"Well than why did you say it was rude?" He asked.
"I just wasn't sure that you knew if you were doing it."
"But if you liked it, it must not be rude." He said.
"You might meet someone who doesn't like it, so I thought I'd inform you."
"Sounds more to me like you were just using it as a way to talk to me about nothing." Ray told her.
"No. You just come off as a person who wouldn't know if something was rude." Neela tried again.
"I think we're going around in circles." He said.
"Maybe."
"Maybe? I think I'm right."
"Okay, so you're right."
"I know."
"God, you're such a…"
"Such a what?" He asked her.
"You know what you are." She told him.
"Fine, be that way." He said.
"Okay, I will."
"Why did we start this conversation?" He asked her.
"To tell you staring is rude." She answered him.
