Seiko stood staring into his opponent's cold, blood-red eyes. They made him feel slightly nervous.

He was rather handsome though, for an Umbreon. The sleek black fur seemed to melt into his golden rings, shining in the moonlight. The sharp ears picked up every sound Seiko made.

Still, it was his territory and he was not willing to give it up.

"So…still standing up for yourself? Strange really; I thought all Espeon were wimps…" The Umbreon grinned, and showed the pointed, almost vampire-like teeth in his mouth.

Seiko's lilac fur bristled. "All Espeon? No, I think you've just been hounding the pathetic house pets for too long." He spat at the word 'pets'.

"Shut up. I make my living off those creatures!" The Umbreon suddenly charged forward and knocked Seiko off his feet, sending him skidding backwards towards the small hole which was his home.

The Psychic Eevee evolution narrowed his- oddly – blue eyes, and shot a blast of bright energy out of the maroon gem adorning his forehead.

"Look, Kumori, just leave me alone." Seiko hissed, watching Kumori flinch at the shot.

"No. Now that you did that, now it's time to play dirty." Kumori threw his head back, exposing the soft neck, held it for a second, and charged straight at the bewildered Espeon.

Seiko slid out of the way, but she caught the force right on the tip of her tail, which stung horribly.

A string of curse words came from the direction in which Kumori had charged, and the slim figure slowly came back, hissing at Seiko menacingly.

He did look amazingly menacing, with the silver birch tree – almost 15 feet tall – swaying behind him, and the pose that oozed 'Bite me'.

Seiko stood his ground. Easier than making the same mistake.

"Love the bloody tail. It's so in." Kumori put on a squeaky voice like a stereotypical teen Eevee.

Seiko simply rolled his eyes. Kumori iwas/i stupid. Couldn't he hear anything?

To pass the time, the Espeon shot another blast of Psybeam at the Umbreon. Kumori slid to the left and dodged it neatly, sending it flying off East.

Just then, the long grass spilt open and a lean figure – obviously human – came out, staring at the two Eeveelutions.

Seiko didn't stay a second longer. He turned his tail, which was still bleeding, and ran away into the depths of his home. He didn't look back and he scrabbled big clods of dirt around the entrance, thick enough for the human not to go after him, but with plenty holes for him to breathe.

The screech came a little later. The Psychic type listened for the beep of The Ball. The beep that would conceal Kumori in a horrid dreamworld forever.

Seiko felt the hot tears drip off his face and land in the dirt. He may hate Umbreon, but this was a fate that no Pokémon would wish on another.

The fate that was his next.
