Chapter one: Promises
Hermione's eyes dropped steadily. She was in the common room and like usual, working on next weeks' homework in advance. The warm glow from the fireplace did nothing but make her drowsy, causing her to stifle a yawn. The light from the flames danced around her skin, making it glow with appearance.
Her eyes once again drooped, her body relaxed. She didn't even hesitate to reopen them up again. From all the recent events it was a well worth nap.
She had decided to work on her homework when she and Harry had an argument, which was what they constantly seem to be doing now of days. It usually was Hermione and Ron who always bickered, but ever since the beginning of this year Harry had kept to himself, and wished to stay alone. Causing Ron and herself to stop there fighting once and for all, and to become close friends. All Hermione wanted to do was to get Harry to speak, but it always ended up turning into a fight.
" Harry please, just tell me, why do you wish to be alone all the time, you know you can tell me anything?"
" It's none of your damn business, Hermione, just drop it alright?" Harry said angrily, his temper rising
" It is too my fucking business, were best friends, we're supposed to be there for each other, even when the times are tough, you are just being ignorant and wont tell me anything. All I try to do is help you, and you just ignore or shout at me, I'm completely sick of it Harry." Hermione shouted
Harry blinked questioningly, Hermione rarely ever shouted, nevertheless swore. His face then contorted in acrimony
" Hermione, if you want to help me out, why don't you help out by leaving me alone, okay? I never asked for your sympathy. You have no idea what I have been through, so don't you dare sit there and try and say how "ignorant" I am being. You have no clue how damn lucky you are to have such a better life than me, alright so just shut up." He said as he ran up to the boy's common room and slammed the door shut.
Tears streamed down Hermione's face
"Harry…" she said silently to herself, " What is wrong…"
Hermione suddenly awoke to the sound of a blood curdling screams. She looked around the common room to see nothing but an empty common room at dusk, everyone must have been at dinner. Hermione dashed to were the dreadful sound was coming from- the boy's common room. Hermione ran inside to where the exact voice was coming from, and she whose is was- Harry.
She saw him thrashing around in his bed, beads of sweat dripping from his head. Hermione gasped out loud. His hand was clasped over his forehead on top of his scar. She went over to Harry, next to his bed, and grasped his wrist.
" Harry its okay, it's only a dream, wake up!" she said desperately. She couldn't stand to see someone hurting.
Harry then instantly stopped, his breathing ragged, and coming out in deep gasps. Hermione then saw his scar that it was indeed bleeding. She quickly tore a piece from her night robe, grabbed the water pitcher and poured cool water onto the cloth, where she then put onto his head.
Harry woke immediately. His emerald eyes shinning with slight tears in the corner, were glowing from the moonlight.
" Hermione…"
" Shhhh, Harry it's okay" Hermione said soothingly
" You're alive, you're alive…" Harry said quickly
He then embraced her in a death grip.
" Hermione, please promise me, no matter what you'll always be here…"
" But Harry…."
" No Hermione, SWEAR to me" He said sternly
" I…I promise Harry…" Hermione said confused
