I hope I get the personalities right, if not tell me so in a review; I guess this is kinda of an AU fic; if you want there can be certain pairings, I'll go by the majority though. Here I go!

It is the year 2005, as a familiar blonde-haired boy was walking to the Fujuki Middle School, a foot nearly kicked him in the gut be he quickly flipped backwards to dodge it; landing on his butt.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the new kid, Uzumaki Naruto"

The attacker said, smirking down at the new kid—who had just transferred into the school—who stood up glaring at him and asked him,

"Who are you?"

"Gaara. Just call me Gaara."

The orange-haired boy replied; then he said,

"You ready to fight?"

Naruto gave him a look answering,

"I would if I could but I would be late for class on my first day of school, so scuse "

Naruto motioned to go around Gaara but he held out his left hand, narrowing his green eyes into slits, at Naruto—his hand was held out in sign language saying 'stop'—who did not want to be late for school it would ruin his reputation; if he had one.

"I don't take 'no' for an answer, for it means for me to label you as a 'coward' " Gaara growled at Naruto slightly, an anime vain appeared on Naruto's forehead.

"Oh really! You're asking for it now Gaara! Get ready to get yer ass kicked by Uzumaki Naruto!" Naruto said with his trademark grin; getting into a battle stance and so did Gaara.

Then randomly, a crowd of kids gathered around Gaara and Naruto shouting,

"Fight, fight, fight!"

Naruto threw a punch at Gaara who swiftly caught it with his left hand and started to twist it, Naruto's eyes winced in pain; he threw a kick to Gaara's stomach which caused him to let go of Naruto's hand.

Punches were thrown kicks were landed and yes even tackling was apparent until a girl with pink long hair and sky blue eyes told the principal what was going on.

As both of them started to choke each other the principal tapped both of them on their shoulders and said,

"Looks like you both need detention for a week and need to start getting along so…your teacher will assign you a very hard project so that you both can work together to discover both of your similarities."

"NOOOOOOO!" Both of them screamed.

"Looks like you're going to have a rough time, Naruto" Sasuke snickered and Naruto glared daggers at him.

"Shut it."
