Disclaimer: Doctor Who and it's related characters and ideas do not belong to me; only the story and any original characters are mine.

Rating: PG

Spoilers: Perhaps minor ones for the early episodes.

Note:I have no idea where this came from, but it is my first venture into yet another new genre! I only hope that it's worth it! This is just a short piece of fluff that randomly wrote itself.

There was something innately bizarre about the idea of a 900 year old man playing with a stuffed animal. It struck her as odd on so many levels that she wasn't entirely convinced that what she was seeing was real. Blinking, she forced herself to reassess the situation, but nothing had changed.

"Eh...Doctor, what you doing?"

He turned on her with the infectious grin that she loved and nodded his head to the small furry creature behind him. "I'm playing."

She raised her eyebrows and laughed. "Playing?"

"Yes, don't try to tell me human children don't play, because I know they do."

"Yeah, we play...I just didn't know you did."

He frowned. "Why wouldn't I?"

She shrugged, a small smile still tugging at her lips. "No reason."

"Good." The grin was back and he turned around to the small alien child.

When he had suggested they go for a walk (being stuck on a relatively boring planet whilst the TARDIS did some self maintenance was never a good idea for the Doctor - boredom soon struck), she hadn't expected to end up in a children's play park. What was more, she most certainly hadn't expected the Doctor to participate.

She watched him for a little while longer, not entirely sure why, but there was just...something about him playing with children (alien or not) that entranced her. Sensing that she had an audience, Rose turned, finding herself face to face with a large furry creature that could only be related to the miniature one the Doctor was playing with.

"He's good."

Rose grinned. "Yes, he is."

"You expecting one of your own?"

It took Rose a moment to realise what the creature meant, her eyes widening at the thought. Still, she couldn't stop the small smile on her face as she replied, "Eh, no. We're, eh, we're not like that."

The creature gave her a look that, on a human, could have been one of disbelief. "Well, he's certainly going to make someone a good father one day."

Turning her attention back to the Doctor she nodded slowly. "Yeah, he is."

"What are you grinning at?"

Rose shook her head, as she entered the TARDIS behind him. Her smile was still there. "Nothin'."

He frowned. "You've been giving me that silly look since we left the park."

"What silly look?"

"That one!" He shook his head. "I dunno, you humans; I'll never understand you."

"You were playing."

"You still on about that?" The Doctor asked in askance. "We already established that I was playing."

"No, it's not that. I was just thinking about something you said once. I never took you for a liar."

"Hey! I'm not a liar."

"Funny," Rose said with a grin. "'Cause I coulda sworn you said you don't do domestic."

She gave him a wink and left him standing by the controls, wondering exactly how he was supposed to respond.

As I said, just a short piece of randomness.
