"Hey Myers!"
John jumped in surprise, quickly hiding something behind his back.
"uh...Hellb- Red...a-aren't you supposed to be with Liz and Abe?"
"What you got there Myers?"
"wha-where?"
"behind your back Myers."
"Nothing. I don't know what you mean. But - I should...go get a snack! You're hungry by now, right? I think there's something in the kitchen-"
Grabbing John's shoulders before he could leave Hellboy quickly grabbed what John was trying to hide behind his back.
"a...comicbook?"
"well-I was just-"
"you read these? I told ya, they never get the eyes right."
Tossing the comicbook back at John (which he failed to catch), Hellboy crossed the room and dropped onto the couch. With a faint pink tinge on his cheeks Myers cautiously approached.
"...you're not mad are you?"
"Naw, those things aren't exactly accurate...just so you know...boyscout."
"I know. It doesn't mention Liz much. You'd never guess you two were...you know, just by reading the comics."
Hellboy sighed.
"Aww Liz is just...fickle. They don't mention you do they?"
"You don't read them?"
"Haven't had the time."
"Well...they don't mention me but-"
"They should."
"Well I'm not as important to the story as you or Abe or Li-"
"What story? Besides, you're just as important as they are. As I am."
John flushed and lowered his eyes.
"No - I don't...I can't do anything. I'm only the 'nanny', remember?"
"pft. 'Nanny'?"
Hellboy gave John an amused look and John's flustered state worsened.
"we-well...I-"
"Myers. Look, the comic book is about me right?"
"yeah."
"It's about my life, what I do, my decisions, right?"
John nodded unsurely.
"Basically about me and what's important to me, right?" another nod. "Well then, you should definately be in the comic."
A somewhat awkward silence. Hellboy sighed.
"It's just a comic book Myers, if anyone should be upset about it's lack of authenticity it should be me. It's just...a load of crap,okay?"
"Hellboy?"
"What is it now?"
"Thanks."
"Welcome. Now where's my snack?"
Only when John left the room did Hellboy allow himself a small smile.
