Run:
By: LOSTrocker
Sawyer could see that Kate was nervous as the plane finally reached Sydney. After a year, the islanders had finally had been rescued. The plane landed and one by one Jack and the others got off. Sawyer and Kate were last. As soon as their feet hit the ground, cameras and TV reporters surrounding them.
Kate could see one reporter heading her way. She turned to Sawyer. He could see the fear in her eyes. Sawyer watched her as she took a step back.
"Don't. Don't run. Stay with me." Sawyer pleaded.
Kate shook her head. "I'm sorry. I can't. Be safe Sawyer."
"KATE!" Sawyer yelled. He was about to run after her, but a reporter got in his way. Another moment later, Kate vanished...
Another year passed, and Sawyer still couldn't get that damn woman out of his head. She floaded his mind while he was awake and while he slept. He wondered what she was doing, or if she was even alive. Sawyer shook that thought right out of his head.
"Of course she is." he assured himself.
Kate was a strong woman. If she could survive that island, then she could continue on surviving here. Hell, she had done that before anyway.
When Kate wasn't stealing his thoughts, Sawyer made his way back to his old trade. He continued on making deals, rather they be good or bad, it was all about the money. After making a rather good one, he decided to treat himself. Sawyer went to a local bar and decided to drink away his sorrows.
Sawyer walked in and country music blasted through the stereos. He had to squeeze his way through the dancing couples to get to the bar. Once he was there, he took a seat, and ordered a cold one.
After a few beers, the alchol started to take effect on him. He forgot about her when a woman asked him to dance. Normally, he would have said no, but this time, he did. As their bodies swayed to the music, Sawyer let his eyes gaze across the other couples. He stopped suddenly when he saw her.
Sawyer moved away from his new partner and went to go see the woman that haunted him. Now, she was here in the flesh. The same set of dark curls and her pale skin...
"Freckles?"
The woman turned around. He stepped back. It wasn't her. Tears filled his eyes. "Lookin' for someone?"
"Yeah, sorry you're not her." Sawyer said as he dashed out of the bar.
As he ran out of the bar, he wondered if he would ever see her again. He missed her so much it hurt. She had ran. He would too. Sawyer would run until he crossed paths with her once again.
