A/N: I might actually make a whole story out of this, seeing as how I'm hooked to forbidden love and that sort of crap. Yes, the girl is Kagome, and yes, it is AU, and yes, it is very short. You may see it as a drabble if you wish. I have loads of these kinds of little stories, so I'll probably throw 'm all together in the near future.
In the beginning, she cries a lot, and she longs for the day that she will laugh again.
When he comes to her the first time, she fights him, hopes that he will let her be, kill her, release her, but he does none of these things.
Instead, he rapes her, and she knows that she should hate him, but she really doesn't feel anything at all.
Sesshoumaru isn't as heartless as everyone thinks, and has, contrary to popular believe, an immortal heart beating in his chest, and so when he comes to her again, he is gentler, but it does nothing to stop the flow of tears down her lovely cheeks.
This river does stop when she comes the first time, and every time afterwards, she mewls, moans, but never cries.
She is as envied as she is hated, she is his favourite, and he comes to her almost every night.
But she would switch her position for anything in the world, and so when he leaves, she cries herself to sleep.
His mouth is on her breast, and she wonders if that what she feels in her heart is maybe love or maybe plain excitement. But she does not get much time to wonder, because the words have left her mouth before she has really contemplated them.
He is stunned, pulls away from her, dresses, and leaves.
She cries again, and when she has composed herself, she cries some more, just for good measure.
He wonders why it displeases him so to see her cry, and if the pang in his heart is love or maybe just plain compassion.
But compassion is an emotion that feels different, he decides, so when he has contemplated them long enough, he allows the words to leave his mouth.
"Shh," he whispers, and she wonders since when he actually cares.
She kisses him, and he can feel her smile against his mouth.
She used to think that her position with him is unstable, unknown, that one day he will sweep her of her feet like what happens in the fairy tale her mother used to tell her, but deep down, she knew all along that she really is just a concubine he accidentally fell in love with.
'If they know,' he tells her, and she silences him with a kiss.
If they know, then she will die.
Afterwards, she likes to think that this is something that she can think of as amusing later on in her life, but the really funny thing is that there will be no later on in her life. And somehow, this tragedy makes her laugh harder then she has ever laughed in the years that lay behind her.
