I don't own. A short ShikaSaku requested by a friend of mine Sakura Heki, who in return will be forking over a Kakasaku or NejiSaku...(or GaaSaku)one shot! I'm giving you a choice! I expect it soon! Oh, and y'all should really read her stories...they're semi-interesting...Kami, I'm gonna be dead for that comment! Enjoy!
Why do people assume so much? They don't even know anything of the affairs? They assume they know what's right and what should be done to resolve whatever problems someone else faces.

They assumed Yamanaka Ino and myself, Nara Shikamaru, would fall in love and get married. They also assumed that Sasuke really did love Haruno and would come back just for the sake of love. They're wrong.

But,Uchiha can't love Haruno, because I do. Ino and I formed a relationship that lasted for only two mere weeks before she found something in Chouji she had never seen before. We broke up, and she went to him, and one day I saw Haruno Sakura. She was alone, sitting in a grove of sakura trees on the Haruno's large property. She look miserable...so I went and I did the most troublesome thing. I walked up and sat with her.

Moments went by as we sat in silence. She was the one who decided to break the silence.

"Why do people always assume things will get better?" she asked randomly almost to herself.

"A form of self assurence. They want a situation to get better, but first to do so they have to assure themselves that it will, and then make it better," I replied in a bored tone.

"But they know that it will never happen deep down. I don't see why they would put themselves through that pain, it rips your heart to shreds when you finally accept it..." her voice trailed off as her eyes became glazed over with tears. Once again, Ijusthad to do one of the most troublesome things that could be done at that moment. I slid closer to her and embraced her, it was almost anunconcious action. She stiffened, but soon relaxed and embraced me back. But thenshe went and did one of the most troublesome things possible in this situation.

She kissed me. Her lips were soft against mine in a sweet kiss. It was a sweet, innocent kiss. She pulled back after only seconds and a blush graced her cheeks. We both stood, avoiding each others eyes, readying to part ways. I turned to leave, but stopped.

"And Shika-kun..." I turned back to the girl, "Thank you."

Her soft lips brushed my cheek in a quick movement. I looked to where she stood and she had disappeared.

I watched in silence as the most troublesome day of my lifepassed by.But somehow...itsurpassed all the other days I have lived and becameone of the best. Damn that woman.

I wrote this in 7 minutes(would've been faster if I had taken Keyboarding!)...sorry and beat that S.Heki!Of course, everyone else can try too!
I edited the few mistakes in this to make it better.
