Chapter One- Starting the Journey
New Bark Town-Matt's House
"Hi, I'm Matt and I dream to become a Pokémon Master. Tomorrow Prof. Elm will give me a Pokémon to start my jour- Eh? Hey, look there! It's my friend and neighbor Kris! Hi Kris! Oh, it seems that she's leaving. She is very kind, warmhearted and..."
"Matthew, the dinner's ready! Today I cooked Volcano Hamburgers!"
"Oh, Volcano Hamburgers! I'm really hungry! Well, see you tomorrow!"
New Bark Town-Kris's House
"Hello, my name is Kris and this is my room. A bed, a computer, some Clefairy and Jigglypuff plushies, nothing extraordinary for a girl's room. Look, there's my friend Matt! Hi Matt! He's cute, isn't he? What? If I want to make out with him? Holy crap, of course not! Well, may-"
"Kris, dear, the dinner is ready!"
"Oh, the dinner is ready. OK, I'll chat with you tomorrow. Bye!"
The next morning-Prof. Elm's Lab
"Hi, Kris. Hi, Matt. You came to pick your starter Pokémon, huh?" said Prof. Elm, who was, as always, working on his computer. He left the computer to show them where the poke balls were.
"There. Pick the pokémon you like", said Prof. Elm, pointing to the table where were the pokéballs.
Kris and Matt went to the table the Prof pointed to. Kris took the ball containing Chikorita, and Matt picked the one containing Totodile.
"Oh, I got an e-mail! What! Wow, Mr. Pokémon made a new discovery! I have to go the- Oh I can't! I have to stay in the lab!"
"So..." said Matt with a sweatdrop on his neck.
"You want us to go to Mr. Pokémon's house in your place, right?" asked Kris.
"Umm... yeah, that's a good idea, Kris, glad that I had it!" said Prof. Elm.
"Well, okay Prof, where's Mr. Pokémon's house?" asked Matt.
"In route 30, between Cherrygrove and Violet", said Kris, checking at her PokéGear.
"Right. I think you should go, if Mr. Pokémon called me, surely is something important. Bye and good luck to you two!", said Prof. Elm, but it was in vain, they left already to Mr. Pokémons house.
"Holy F word, not again!" , said Prof. Elm.
Route 29-Between New Bark and Cherrygrove
Kris and Matt were starting their journey. Everything was normal for a starting trip, defeating Rattatas, the Pokémon getting stronger, you know.
Once the two trainers got off the grassy areas, Matt told to Kris:
"You know, we've been friends since we met, but now we are to start a Pokémon journey together, we could become something else..."
When Kris heard the words "become something else" , she blushed deeply.
Matt continued: "... that I don't want to become. Rivals. I don't want to be your rival, that'll ruin our friendship. Kris, please promise me, that no matter what happens, who becomes league champion or whatever, you will be always my friend."
"Always friends", said Kris.
"Thanks."
