Disclaimer: Nope, don't own Static shock. Darn. I'm not getting paid to do this. Darn again. But I'm pretty sure I own the plot.
A/N: I've been...busy lately. School's ending and that means a shitload of work. I don't I've seen 6 hours of sleep since March. So I'm sorry for not updating and that this might be slow too. I was able to type this up only b/c Kuurosuki & I are working on a fic and my part had to be typed up. (something I'm still not done with.) So yes. I apologize in advance.
This is the prologue, why it's so short. I have yet to decide what these italic words really are.
Please review and on to the fic.
Green Sheep
Interlude
He wandered into English, 9 am, still blinking the gunk from his eyes.
Nine was too early to come to school. With a History project and Daisy's last minute party he'd been up 'til 2, no… 3 in the morning used to live on less, and was very sleep deprived. It'd been fun though, lielast night, up until the part he'd collasped in his bed and then had to get up this morning. He leaned against the cold wall for a moment before staring blankly at the closed door.
The lights were off and the door was shut. No one around. He dragged his butt out of bed and the teacher wasn't even here yet! Just wonderful.
And now he'd have to wait, in this cold hallway standing up instead of being able to rest his head on one of those desks in the nice warm classroom and sleeping for all of, he stared at his watch, 10 minutes.
10 minutes, he decided, was more than enough time. He tried the door handle and when it opened unlocked, slipped in still with that vague sleepwalking ness and halted before the light switch. buzzing hum
For a moment his hand hovered above the light switch a distance so that a spark could jump from his palm to the circuit and flick the lights.
Virgil stood there, the moment dragging on, not even aware of what he was waiting for, what his ears strained to hear- that click as brightness floored the room. He wasn't even thinking about that mental muscle that flexed, even though it was no longer needed.no more. He was only aware that it should have sent electricity to the wires, pumped lightening through his veins, made him alive…
"Virgil?"
He whirled around. Richie stood before him, how long had he been there? his ever present bulky headphones shoved down around his neck all tangled with his green hoodie, hair mussed, same as always. lies But his eyes…unguarded blues stared into his, searching, questioning….
Do you…do you forget sometimes too?
"V?"
He stared at him, at his once best friend somehing more, at those eyes, the hurt and the hope and words formed silently in his head. His mouth opened, to explain, to confess, apologize; mend the space between them and take that step. Do you feel the same? Could he…could he trust him?
"I-I….just…I just zoned out."
"It was nothing."
Face blank, Richie shrugged and in a swift smooth movement slipped his headphones back up before coldly brushing past him.
The music started up again.
