A/N: Since I'm such a songfic fiend, I figured I'd try something new and different. One of my favorite songs right now is 'Bleed Like Me' by Garbage and If you'd ever heard the song, you know all it really is 6 verses with a few lines repeated throughout the song. Five of the six verses tell of 5 different people and what pains them. And all 5 of them ask if you can feel their pain. This gave me an Idea of using the five stories of 'Bleed Like Me' and applying them to Bebop. Wish me luck. Their kinda drabble-ish and I apologize if it seems like questions go unanswered.
Summary: Life after Spike causes 5 different people to go down a path of confusion and self-destruction. But they all want to know. Can you bleed like they do?
Disclaimer: I do not own Cowboy Bebop or Garbage. But I would be the luckiest girl alive if I had Shirley Manson...O.o...You did not hear me say that...
Chapter 1:Avalanche
Avalanche is sullen and too thin
She starves herself to rid herself of sin
And the kick is so divine when she sees bones beneath her skin
Edward tripped over herself again and fell face first into the dirt. Ein walked up beside her and sniffed her to make sure she was ok. He could tell she wasn't but it wasn't like Ed to admit her problems to anyone else. She weakly pushed herself up. "Can't let dad see me..." "Francoise! Hurry up with those samples." Ed cringed at that name as she rushed up the hill. "Why didn't he just kill me at birth if he wanted a boy so badly?" By the time she reached the truck, she was having a hard time catching her breath. Ein licked her foot with concern but she ignored it and handed her father the samples and crawled inside the truck near when McIntire was working and laid down.
"Ed, are you feeling alright?" She nodded slowly and laid her head back down. But she could fool no one. When McIntire first met Ed, she was bubbly and full of life. Nothing could bring her down. Until her father got to her, that is. Applederry really didn't want a daughter in the first place and he started abusing her mentally and emotionally. He said things like she wasn't good enough for the job or he wishes she was a boy instead. Because of this, Ed's bubbly spirit slowly went away and her face didn't light up anymore. Then, she stopped eating. Not entirely, but just enough to cause harm. Her already skinny frame was down to the bone and her once bright face became hollow and dark as a desert night. She slowed down extremely and her breathing became more shallow. She probably wasn't going to last the year. But for some reason, she felt satisfied with herself. Like she was finally doing something right, but really, it was all wrong.
Once Ed fell into her uneasy sleep, McIntire turned off his computer and opened the door to the truck. "Ed..." He whispered, "You've become like an avalanche. An avalanche that's going to destroy everything that is good about the mountain around it..." He almost hopped out but he heard a weak voice say, "Wait..."
And she says:
She pushed herself up and looked at McIntire. "I just wanna know..."
Hey baby
"Can you bleed like me?"
C'mon baby can you bleed like me?
A/N: Um...to anybody who knows the song...who should I use for Chris? Reviews appreciated.
