1When The Lights Are In Your Eyes

A little drabble. (DannyAiden) I don't own anything that is named Danny Messer, Aiden Burn or Mac Taylor. R&R please!

Aiden had always loved New York. The lights, the noise- it all attracted her, drew her into the energy she herself possessed. Being in the city gave her so much power.

"You okay, Aid?" someone said next to her. She turned to meet the beautiful blue eyes of her partner, Danny Messer, and blushed.

"Yeah."

"Good. I was starting to get a little worried. It wouldn't have been the first time someone was blinded by Broadway."

She laughed. He was so cute when he was smiling. And he always knew how to make her laugh, with his goofy charm. She gasped. Did she, Aiden Burn, have a crush on her partner?

No. The last time this happened, she got hurt. Don't do it again, girl. Besides, Danny was cute, but she felt like he was so... close to her. Like a really good friend.

"So, allow me to walk you home?" he asked, and she nodded, "Sure."

They strolled down the street, laughing and talking, the essence of friends in New York City. She felt his arm around her waist, and she didn't complain. It felt nice there.

"It feels great to just be out here, not worrying about work or anything," he remarked.

"Yeah... sometimes you just need to get out."

He smiled. Damn, he was cute. Those eyes of his took her in, made her crazy...

They arrived at her apartment, and at the top of the steps she paused. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow," Danny said, kissing her cheek.

"Wait," she stopped him. "Um... you want to come up?"

"You sure?"

"Yeah, why not?"

Upstairs, he stood uneasily, looking around. "Make yourself at home," she said, taking his jacket.

"Aiden," he said to her. "Um... I have something to tell you."

"Yeah?"

"Um... I kinda have a crush on you."

She laughed, relieved. "So it's not just me?"

"What, you have one on me?"

She nodded, quiet. "I guess it's mutual."

"So... I can do this?"

He got close to her and kissed her, slowly, tenderly, the longing seeping through and electrifying her. Aiden ran her hands up his neck and rested them on his face, as his arms wrapped around her waist. This was what she wanted- this, Danny kissing her as the city lights dimmed a bit, the electricity running through them. They broke apart, Danny's eyes dancing with energy and admiration.

"I guess this is why you love the city, isn't it?" he whispered, and she nodded. The lights in his eyes were reason enough to love New York.
