"Jack, you should at least talk to Lt. Colonel Hunter."
"I'll agree to talk but not to Hunter joining SG-1."
"I have a feeling you'll change your mind once you've met."
"Oh. I doubt it Sir."
General Hammond opens a door and waits for Jack, Sam, and Jonas to go in. He goes in and closes the door behind him.
"Colonel Hunter."
She turns and salutes him.
"Sir."
"At ease."
"Thank you sir. It's good to see you again General."
"You to Kari."
"This must be Colonel Jack O'Neill. It will be a pleasure to work with you sir."
"I'm sure it will."
"And this must be Major Samantha Carter. I've heard a lot about you."
"Call me Sam…."
"Jonas Quinn I presume."
"Colonel."
"Will you be staying with us?"
"No sir. I'm moved into a house already. In fact I should probably get back. I need to help Fran unpack the boxes."
"Jack why don't you go help. It will give you all a chance to get to know each other better."
"Yes Sir."
"Jack this is Francesca. She's my housekeeper. Fran is everything unpacked in the kitchen?"
"Yes mistress. I was just going to start on the bedrooms."
"Let's work on the library first." "Yes miss."
She goes into the next room. Kari and the others follow her. Just as Jack walks in he sees a shadow and hears someone giggling.
"Kari?"
"Yes Jack?"
"Is it just you and Francesca in the house?"
"No. I have a…."
"Mummy!"
A little boy runs into the room and hides behind Kari.
"Darling they won't hurt you. Come out and say hello to mummy's new friends."
The little boy come out from behind her and walks up to Jack.
"Darling this is Colonel Jack O'Neill."
The little boy stands at attention.
"Cadet Daniel Jackson British Royal Air Force reporting for duty Sir!"
"It was my brother's idea to teach him that."
"Did he say Daniel Jackson?"
"Yes, Sam he did. I was Daniel's Fiancé before he left for Abydos. A month or two later I received a box of Daniel's personal effects. Our son is now almost eight years old."
"I sent the box."
"I know the General told me. He also said Daniel really was dead now. I don't believe him though."
"Why not?"
"Because he's standing right behind you."
"Kari I'm sorry."
"About what? Forgetting about me?"
"You know I loved you."
"You said you'd be back."
"I came back."
"You never came to see me."
"I couldn't"
"Why? Because you were busy."
"What was I supposed to do?"
"You tell me Daniel. I don't know everything like you do."
