The silver hedgehog lifted his green emerald from his glove; he was entering the earth's atmosphere pretty fast. Suddenly, a meteor knocked the flashing emerald out of his hand. He sighed.
"Maria, this is what you wanted right? This is my promise I made to you," then he was gone, in a blink of an eye.
"Sonic, where is Shadow?" Rouge asked the blue hedgehog as he slowly walked into the Ark.
Sonic shook his head as Rouge flattened her ears. A golden ring was pushed into her hand as he turned to the giant glass windows.
"Do you really think the professor created Shadow to carry out his plans?" Rouge asked as she stood with Sonic.
"He was what he was, a brave and heroic hedgehog, who gave his life to save this planet," he walked away as Knuckles joined Rouge.
Elsewhere on the Ark, Eggman was staring out into space with Tails.
"As a child, I looked up to my grandfather because of all the great things he did, but did he really mean to destroy us all?"
"I don't know," Tails replied "But what I do know is we all did it together!"
"Maybe your right."
"So, what's next for you Rouge? Off to find those jewels you love so much?" Knuckles questioned.
"Nah, too much work for too little pay, besides I've got something better than jewels I'm thinking about right now."
"If you say so."
"The ultimate life form….." Sonic muttered as he stood on a sliding platform.
"What's the matter Sonic?" Amy asked as she paced towards him.
"Oh nothing, c'mon let's go home; to the planet as cool and blue as me!" he exclaimed.
He watched as Amy ran out of the door and boarded the space ship.
"Sayonara Shadow the hedgehog," Sonic whispered as he left the ark.
Two years later.
"Argh, where are these things coming from?" the fourteen year old Amy cried as she swung her hammer with all her might.
"I don't know Ames," Scythe exclaimed narrowly dodging another hit.
The cyclone lay damaged in the freshly dug ditch.
"Tails is soooooo gonna kill me!" she said as her hammer connected with a drone's head.
"Think about that later!"
The duo retreated into the forest after numbers of shots rained down on them.
"Hey Amy how was that for………….. AMY!" Scythe yelled as she noticed Amy wasn't with her.
Amy screamed as loud as she could, kicking, punching and biting into the drone's hard metal hands that gripped around her mouth firmly.
"MFFP!" she cried, her voice muffled.
Suddenly, a drone raised its hand and knocked her out. She slumped down slowly.
"Subject Known as Amy Rose, freedom fighter 04 currently captured. Return to base."
Meanwhile Sonic was busily sipping on a fruit cocktail.
"Ah, life's a bliss now that Egghead's retired, I think I'll visit Knux today," he sped off not noticing a batter blue hedgehog carrying a scythe exit the dense forest.
