THE NEXT TERROR

Harry Potter looked all over the Quidditch field for the snitch. Draco Malfoy was tailing Harry everywhere, and Harry was just plain tired of having Malfoy follow him. Just as he was thinking this, he spotted it. The snitch was hovering a little above the Slytherin goal posts. Harry made a dive for it. Malfoy saw Harry. He tried to catch up, but Harry was going to fast, Harry heard a distant yell, "HARRY! WATCH OUT!" It was Hermione Granger! Just as Harry turned his head back to see where the Snitch had been, there was a bludger instead. SMACK! Right in the face.

Harry kept hold of his broom, and saw that the snitch was still there. He made another dive for it and… YES!! He caught it!!!

Hermione was the first on the field. She came over to Harry, and just smiled. Harry didn't see her until he was on the shoulders of all his teammates. He tried to get down from their shoulders, but it was no use. "I'll see you in the common room!" he yelled to her, and he saw her mouth say, "OK!"

But when Harry saw Hermione in the Common Room, she looked slightly different. She looked, beautiful! Harry had never seen Hermione like that! What the heck…thought Harry, walking over to her.

"Hi!" she said, a grin spreading across her face, "We won the house cup!" Suddenly, Harry didn't know what was going on, all he saw was Hermione. He leaned forward and…

"Wah, YEAH! Hey baby wake up, come and dance with me!" wailed Harry's alarm clock. "Oh no," he said, talking to himself. "The most wonderful dream and I have to wake up.

Harry got dressed and walked into the common room. Today was Halloween, no classes. Harry was going to wait for Hermione, even if it did take her forever to get all her books.

But Hermione never came down. What's wrong with her? Thought Harry, sadly, I'll catch her later I guess.

Hermione nearly screamed. It was 12:00! How could she have over slept? I gotta get down to breakfast! She though, getting dressed rather quickly, then running down the stairs to the common room.

The only person left in the room was Harry. Boy, did he look cute! His hair was as messy as usual, one of the things that made him so cute. "Hey!" he said to her, walking up and grabbing her hand, "We gotta get down to breakfast!"

They ran down to the Great Hall, all the way laughing. Hermione was so out of breath when they reached the Great Hall, that she had to stop. But when she stopped, Harry pushed her against the wall. "Wha-?" Was all she was able to say before Harry leaned down and kissed her.

All day, Hermione couldn't think of anything else. The smell of his hair, his dark, deep green eyes. When classes were finally over, she felt like taking a night stroll.

As she walked down the path, she saw a man. He had long, blonde hair, that was pulled back into a pony tail. He must be a wizard, thought Hermione. But oh, how wrong she was. His clothes looked like they were from a few decades ago, but he was very handsome. As Hermione approached him, fear grew in her. She looked up into his eyes, and saw that they were, supernatural. "NO!" was the last thing Hermione was able to scream before the man sunk his teeth into her neck.

"I'm going to give you the choice I never had," said the vampire to her, his eyes piercing into hers as she backed away. He had some sort of ring on his thumb, which he used to cut his wrist. He reached out and offered the bloody wrist to Hermione. For some reason, she clang to his wrist, drinking the blood. An odd sensation came over her. Everything seemed to fade. "My god!" she screamed, "I'm dying!"

"Everyone does, my dear." Said the Vampire to her, while filing his finger nails as if nothing had happened. Hermione couldn't believe him!

"Who" was all that escaped her mouth before she let out a scream of pain. Dying was like something she had never known before. This way of dying would have been the last way she would ever picked. But then, all the pain stopped. She looked around her, and saw everything in a different way. Everything was clearer than it had ever been. She looked at her hands, and saw that they were now a white color. She looked at her hair, and saw it had gone naturally beautiful. It was very curly, how her hair had been when she was 5! It must be my natural hair, she thought to herself, now staring back at the Vampire. "Who are you?" she whispered, still amazed at everything she saw around her.

"My name is Lestat. As you may have noticed, I'm a vampire, as are you now." He smiled at her, bearing his fangs. Hermione reached up and touch her teeth. She had fangs now too! "We must get you a coffin…" said the Vampire, thinking, "And, you must feed."

Hermione took that last part as a shock. "I must what?" she said, knowing EXACTLY what he meant, but not believing it.

"Why, feed, of course! You will die if you don't!" The Vampire looked around, and saw a frightened looking cat. It was Crookshanks!

"That's my cat!" yelled Hermione as he grabbed the cat. This went on for a little while, and Hermione finally fed, on a squirrel. (EWWW, I know, but I had to put that part in there, it wouldn't be as good of a story if it wasn't!)

Lestat told her that she must kill every night, or she shall die. He said he had known a vampire to do this, and he starved to death. He also explained that they have eternal life and beauty, unless she went out in the sun or fed on dead blood. Hermione understood this all, but was still not believing the mess she had gotten herself into.

"You can sleep under your bed tonight…" he said, "I will find you a coffin tomorrow. Now, when you go back in there, don't let anyone know what happened to you. If you do, or if you let anyone see you in direct light, they will fear you. Unless, that is, if you have a lover. He will not be afraid of you. He will only find you more beautiful than ever. But you must never kiss him! Because, if you do, you will have to kill him, and it is your choice to turn him into a vampire."

Lestat then explained how to turn someone into a vampire. Hermione already knew from her studies, but still listened carefully. "I shall see you later, Hermione." He said, and in a flash, he was gone.

Hermione walked back into the castle, not even nervous. She had eternal life, Voldemort could never kill her, and no one would ever be able to curse or hex her. But, she had to kill people to stay alive.

As she walked back to the common room, she saw Professor McGonagall. She waved to her, but then noticed she was standing in direct light. She moved out of the light, and waved again. Her Professor smiled, and walked off.

Harry waited for Hermione in the common room. Mostly everyone was up, Ron playing a game of wizard chess with that annoying Rebecca O' Ryan. Harry finally saw Hermione come into the common room. But she was not herself. Her skin was white, her hair was very curly, and she looked…naturally beautiful. He walked over to her and took hand, and they sat down by the fire. Harry watched Ron, as his face grew in terror. "Harry," said Ron, looking at Hermione, "I need to talk to you… NOW!"
