We met at a self-help group that our parents forced us into. We connected and found closer friends in each other than either of our parents could have hoped. We confided in each other, loved each other, and we knew that in each other was a soul mate.

But it changed.

"Squall, darling, come downstairs for a second?" Getting up from my place on my bed, I put down the diary I had been writing in, and waving the urge to slam the door behind me, yelling "its Leon now!" I jogged down the stairs, waiting for the smells of dinner to reach my nostrils. The only reason Mother ever called me downstairs was for dinner. She didn't do screaming at me anymore. An only child, indulged from the off by my working parents, I never obeyed them to begin with. They thought that not shouting at me would work itself out eventually, and, as Mother used to put it "It wouldn't upset my delicate emotions that way."

The smell didn't reach my nostrils at all.

Mother was standing by the phone – I think. She was shaking and her eyes were wet. I stood at the bottom of the stairs looking at her, not knowing what to say. Eventually she opened her mouth and I saw – yes saw – the words tumble from her lips. They were a pale, sickly, shaky green. They looked rancid, yet ethereal. I didn't listen; I saw what she was saying. I never listened.

The words were punctuated, what I saw, I managed to piece together their jigsaw as they lay on the floor, just after she couldn't take my creepy silence and ran from the room.

They spelt –

"Ms Heartily called. She had bad news. Rinoa has c.o.m.m.i.t.t.e.d. s.u.i.c.i.d.e."

Crouching on the floor, I cradled the unhealthy words in my arms. They somehow floated away when I wasn't watching though, I don't have them anymore.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters in this chapter. I don't know exactly what's going to happen after this so I don't know if I won't own any of the scenery. But there wasn't really much description of that so I suppose it doesn't really matter.

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!
