Normal
'Am I normal, Sasuke thought.
"Mother, am I normal?" His mother looked at him.
"Of course you're normal, honey."
Sasuke looked at his mother feeling depressed for some reason.
"Good-bye mother."
"Good-bye Sasuke."
With that said Sasuke walked out of the kitchen and into the living room. He saw his father reading a newspaper and decided to ask him if he was normal." Father, am I normal?" His father looked at him in the same way as his mother.
"Sasuke, you are perfectly average." He said after he went back to reading
Sasuke saw that his father was finished talking to him, so he left the room.
He was wandering around the house when he spotted his brother." Hello Brother."
"Hello Sasuke."
"Um, Ni-san, I-I was w-wondering if you think I'm normal." He stammered.
"Why do you ask?" Sasuke was taken aback. Itachi was the first person to have ever asked why he felt this way.
"I think it's because all the other children are different from me and I was wondering if that was okay."
Itachi looked at Sasuke in a sad way.
"Of course you are normal." This was the same exact answer his mother gave and with it he realized that he didn't want to be normal. He wanted to be special, even if it was just to his brother.
Itachi saw the look on his face and realized what Sasuke wanted to hear. "Sasuke," he said while grabbing his chin." You aren't normal;" Sasuke's face was the very image of surprise." You are the most special child I have ever met, Sasuke and you deserve to know so."Sasuke could feel his eyes well up with tears and he saw his brother give a soft smile.
"Thank you, Ni-san." He sobbed closing his eyes.
"Don't cry, Sasuke." Itachi whispered before leaning in to lick the tears off of Sasuke's cheek.
Sasuke's eyes flew open and he stared wide eyed at his brother, all he got from Itachi was a smirk over his shoulder as he walked away. "What was that?" Sasuke whispered quietly while putting a hand to his cheek.
Sasuke looked away from where his brother had left and felt the breeze dry the mixture of saliva and salt on his face.
'I guess I'm not normal…. But I guess that's okay.'
