Reviewing the Situation

The scene: After forty years of fighting across the galaxy, Canderous is beginning to have doubts about his chosen career...

CANDEROUS:

A guy's got a heart... hasn't he?
Joking apart... hasn't he?
And though I'm not ashamed to admit I've done all that they claim,
I'm finding it hard to live up to the Mandalore name...

I'm reviewing the situation,
I'm not happy with the way my life has turned.
All those killings, assassinations...
If you play with fire you'll end up getting burned.
In my youth I'd kill and maim at will
But now I just don't get the thrill
Destroying planets soon gets old
These days I find it leaves me cold
My one-man-army days are gone
But who the hell will take me on?

So where can I go? Anywhere...
No job's too low, anywhere...
But it's no kind of life being only a broken-down merc!
So maybe it's time that I looked for more meaningful work...

I'm reviewing the situation,
Now I'm older, killing's simply not enough;
Need a purpose, some kind of station.
The Republic needs a guy who knows his stuff!
So I'll swallow down my racial pride
And go to fight at Revan's side
And though the Jedi may be fools
I'll have to play it by their rules.
They'll lecture me on how to fight,
Morality, and 'human rights'...ugh!

That stuff's not my style, anyway.
Not worth my while, anyway...
With no enemies left to defeat, I would only get bored!
I need to find something that offers a better reward...

Maybe I should throw my lot in with the Sith.
Malak's death is a complication,
But no doubt they're still a force to reckon with!
With my help they'll see their Empire rise
And when they've won I'll share the prize
But even if I serve them well
They'll make my life a living hell
The minute I start getting slack
They'll turn and stab me in the back!
