Disclaimer : I wish I owned Wild Adapter. I'd even settle for EC. But I don't. They belong to Minekura.
Summary : Because it seems an unwritten rule that there has to be one of these in every genre. Perhaps this will serve as a warning, and prevent others from doing the same.
Warnings : WA Crossover. That should be enough to make you all scream and run in terror. Oh, and Tokito has a potty mouth.
Comments : Sorcha and I have had this discussion many a time – there seems to be an unwritten rule that no matter what the genre, SOMEONE will write one of these. And since I've joked around about this sort of thing, I decided the best thing to do was get the inevitable out of the way, and hope that no one will try to one-up it. Here, unwritten rule, here's your fic. Now go away and find some other genre. And yes, yes, I'll get to work on the next chapter of seventh heaven, and honest I haven't forgotten about mirai
Unwritten Rule 1:Wild Adapter
The scene was bleak. Kasai-san took a long draw on his cigarette, staring at the body on the floor in front of him. He stood a good distance back, leaning against the wall, and wondered for a moment what he should do. Wait, he supposed.
Pulling out his cell phone, he checked it again to make sure it was on vibrate, and that he hadn't missed a call. The screen lit his face slightly, and as he snapped the phone shut, the ash fell from his cigarette. The body stirred slightly, but then settled, its breath hitching as if it were waking, and then resuming the deep regularity of slumber. Kasai steeled himself in an instant, prepared to have blood and viscera splattered on him at that very moment, but then when nothing happened, he relaxed slightly. This was not a normal, typical case. Perhaps it wouldn't end the same way as before.
The whisper of footsteps, followed by a set slightly louder, and Kasai-san pulled out his pack of cigarettes without a word. Kubota nodded in response as he took one from the pack.
"And… you haven't tried waking him?" Kubota asked softly.
"If he's anything like I'd expect…" Kasai-san couldn't stop his eyes from glancing at Tokito's right hand, "Awake is even more dangerous than waiting for the inevitable."
The silvery light of the full moon trickled through the window, igniting every hair on the body before them with liquid fire, like the sheen of aged nitroglycerine begging to be disturbed. The teacher's office was curiously spacious, lacking furniture and bookshelves, as if it had been cleaned out to become a cage for this monster.
The trio studied the shape, Tokito more than a little curious. Clenching his fist, he hissed, "Let's wake him. Maybe… Maybe we can find out…"
Kubota nodded in response slightly, and Tokito stepped forward slowly. Both onlookers fingered their guns, ready to draw at the slightest sign of danger, each with their own motives of protection. Step by step Tokito approached, every hair on his body tingling with anticipation and readiness. As he halved the distance between them, the body stirred and sneezed, then in a blur of movement, was up and back against the corner of the room, his eyes awake in an instant and focused on his company.
Not a single muscle twitched, all 4 parties reevaluating the situation, and in the distance the sounds of approaching, running footsteps echoed in the hall. They skidded to a halt at the door, which remained empty of human occupation. Then, there was the sound of cloth sliding against cloth, and three shapes appeared: a young girl, and two young boys. Tokito blinked.
"Professor Lupin!" They shouted in unison, concern in their voice.
At which point, Tokito looked at the camera, punched it, and everything faded to black. Footsteps were heard walking off, and Tokito's voice was heard growling, "No way in HELL I'm taking part in a fucking Harry Potter cross over."
