The art of Listening

By, The Angels of Death

Summary: One-shot. No matter how mannered Hyuuga, Neji is, he never listens. Exasperated, Tenten takes the matter into her own kunai. Err…hands.

Pairings: NejiTen

Neji sat there, meditating, as Tenten eyed him with little patience.

"Neji. Go eat. Now."

"No."

Tenten sighed. She really didn't care about him, but he needed to eat. Does he not know of malnutrition?

"Neji. Go eat."

"No."

"Neji, eat now."

"No."

"Neji, I'll kill you."

"I'd like to see you try, Tenten."

Neji smirked, his eyes still closed from meditating. Tenten growled low in her throat.

"You know what? Fine. See if I care."

Then, Tenten turned on her heel and walked away. Neji opened an eye to stare at her retreating figure, and sighed.

'I'll go after her, before she starts crying or something…'

Neji slowly walked after her, taking his precious time. As he walked into another training area, he sensed that something was wrong. Like…a trap. But Neji shook it off, who would set a trap? Tenten?

He saw her, sitting on top of a rock, her back hunched, and her legs pulled up to her chest, while she lay her head on top of her knees, her arms concealing her face from view.

"Tenten."

"Go away."

"Tenten, I-…"

Neji paused. What should he say? He knew squat at the subject of woman. Tenten then spoke up.

"Neji. Go eat."

"No."

"Fine."

Tenten's arm swiftly moved to her weapon's holster and pulled out a kunai. She sliced a thin, barely visible, piece of wire, and the floor under Neji shot up, as he was pulled into a net. Neji had no time to react at all.

However, and Neji looked up to scream, his mouth open, he found that something was shoved into his mouth.

Was it…a piece of cake?

Yes, Tenten expected Neji to open his mouth to scream, and so she took precise calculations and hung a piece of cake on a string, so it could be shoved into his mouth.

Neji involuntarily swallowed. Then his colorless eyes narrowed.

"TENTEN!"

"What?"

"Grr…I'll get you back, I swear."

"Ooooh, Neji swore."

Tenten grinned, hugely. Neji grumbled at her child-ness. He cut off the ropes with his kunai and landed on his feet. Then he looked around, and sighed. Tenten had vanished, just as he cut himself loose.

"Tenten, use your scroll."

"No."

"Use it."

"No."

"I demand that you use it."

"No."

Neji's eyes narrowed, and he sighed.

"You need to use it to defeat a large number of enemies surrounding the area."

"I'm too lazy. Go away."

"Tenten…use it."

"No."

"Freaking…fine!"

Neji stomped away. Yes, he stomped. Tenten laughed at the peculiar-ness. Neji immediately stomped back.

"ARE YOU LAUGHING AT ME!"

"Yes."

"Use you damn scroll or I will do something you'll regret."

"No."

"Fine."

Neji seized her neck and pulled her towards him. Tenten took an intake of breath as Neji's lips crashed onto hers.

……………4 minutes later

Tenten and Neji were still smackin' their lips together. Then, Tenten felt a little dizzy.

'I need air!'

Tenten fought her way out of Neji's hold, breathing hard. That was very unexpected.

Neji smirked and walked away, as Tenten growled.

Neji liked it.

Tenten liked it.

So no matter, Tenten was in a win-win deal.

And Neji had gotten back his pride.

AND a new secret admirer.
