When he started flirting with Hoshi weeks ago, she had blushed more and more at each joke and each smile. He would say something saucy and all she could do was smile back and cover her face. It had been a feeling she couldn¹t express, something she did not understand. All she knew was that it had made her feel almost high and so attractive.
When he finally asked her out, she was filled with so much joy that when she went to her quarters the tears swelled in her eyes, overflowed and began to pour out. All he said was that he would be picking her up at seven and that she should wear her red dress, the one that mad her look like a queen. She didn't know how to respond with anything but a simple yes.
When he had told her that he was the luckiest man to be dating the smartest and most beautiful woman in the universe, she laughed and said he was just being nice. He shook his head and said that he was telling the truth. She kissed him for that, but that was all.
When they had fought about him going on a mission that he had the choice to go or not to go, she was angry with him. He told her if she loved him, she would let him. He desperately wants to go and she didn¹t want to give any woman the opportunity to steal him away from her. She yelled at him and then he said softly and slowly that if she wanted to leave him, he wouldn't make her stay. She was angry with those drawling words. So angry.
And when she found out he had been kidnapped by the government of the world they argued about, all she felt was remorse. She had pushed him aside and might never see him again. She was angry with no one but herself. She hit her head against the wall in her quarters and yelled at herself for hours. She had been heartless and he had put out his entire heart. He loved her more than she thought. And so did she.
