Oh God, don't ask :D. I've found myself re-reading a lot of DW fan fiction when I'm supposed to be revising, and I'm recalling a lot of what you guys have written, so I thought I'd try and do this and see if it works. Ignore the weirdness off it :P.

"So...who didn't like them again?"

The Doctor rolled his eyes. "You haven't listened to a word I've said, have you? Right. Social Revolutionaries, Liberals, Mensheviks, Monarchists - they were the ones who supported the old Tsarist regime -, and landlords against the Reds - or the Bolsheviks. The Reds had set up something called the Comintern, saying they would cause communist revolutions all over the world. Foreign countries got really annoyed and sent armies to destroy them. As you do."

"So who won..." Rose casually shrugged her shoulders, quite obviously confused. Her companion sighed. "The Bolsheviks won the Civil War."

"How? If they had all these people against them -"

"Different purposes. They all had conflicting ideas about what would happen after the Reds were defeated. They all had different ideologies -"

"So they were weaker?"

"Sort of. The Reds were organised and united for the cause. Plus they had Trotsky, control of the main cities like Petrograd and Moscow, control of the railway and communication lines, and very strict military discipline. Add a bit of violence into the mix and voila! -" he beamed. "A recipe for success!"
