"Oh, for cryin' out loud! Why can't I concentrate for once on my work?" Colonel Jack O'Neill asked facing the wall behind his desk.

'She decided to marry Austin from SG-7...'

Austin is the scientist from that team.

'…and not me because I am not a scientist' was all Jack could think of.

'She doesn't want me because'

"I am not smart"

He didn't notice that he had spoken out loud the last part of his sentence.

"You are smart, Jack"

Jack spun around in his chair to the door that he thought was closed when he sat down. Either way the door was closed now with Major Samantha Carter standing near his desk.

"Austin never asked me to marry him. He just made it up to impress the rest of SG-7, who then told the rest of the SGC personnel."

After sometime of just staring at one another, Sam walked up to him and stared him in the eyes seeing all the feelings she had always wanted to see in those chocolate eyes when he looked at her. She let her walls fall along with his and he lost himself in her eyes.

"I love you, Jack" was all Sam could think to say after staring into his eyes for who-knew-how long.

"I love you too Sam", Jack said taking her into his arms, "With all my heart."

Sam melted into his embrace and stayed like that with his breath on her neck and her clutching him tightly to her for a while.

She lightly pulled away capturing his lips with hers.

He immediately responded but then remembering where they were pulled away reluctantly gasping for breath.

"Can you come over for dinner tonight?" Jack asked already knowing the answer Sam would give him and praying he was right.

She just nodded her head.

"Is 1900 ok?" Sam only nodded and Jack felt a surge of pride that he could make her speechless.

At 7 o'clock Jack's doorbell rang and he immediately opened the door to reveal Samantha Carter behind it.
