AN- I don't think this is very good, but I needed it out of my system.
"Severus, I need to talk to you," Hermione announced as she came through the door to their quarters.
Severus Snape walked into the living room with his hair falling into his face and an ink stain on his chin. When he saw his wife standing there with a nervous, edgy sort of look on her face, he immediately became concerned, and walked over to her. When he reached her, however, instead of allowing herself to be enfolded in his arms, Hermione took a step back.
Though he didn't know it, Hermione and Ginny had talked earlier about how to break this news to him, and they'd agreed that if she allowed him to touch her, it was likely that Hermione would break into tears and sob out the whole story in a confused, jumbled mess. Since that wouldn't do at all, they'd planned out the dialogue that would happen, allowing for the possibility of several possible reactions from Snape. Ginny had offered to go along for moral support, in case Snape snapped, but Hermione thought that her presence would only further incense Severus, so it was decided that Ginny would remain in her chambers.
Now that she was here, though, Hermione felt woefully unprepared for this situation. Severus was already looking hurt and confused. He reminded her a bit of a puppy dog that had just been kicked aside by his favorite child. But still, she wouldn't lose her resolve.
"Severus," she started, in what she hoped was a confident voice, "I've found someone new."
His face looked like it was about to crumple, but he abruptly schooled his face into a blank mask. "Someone younger?" His voice was harsh, his tone abrupt.
"Well, yes," Hermione said, "I just feel much closer to this person than you right now, and…"
"Who is he?" Severus cut her off abruptly, not really wanting to hear the details about the new man Hermione loved.
"It's not a he, Severus."
His jaw dropped. So she was not only leaving him, she was leaving him for a woman? He'd thought she'd enjoyed the sex, judging by the sounds she made, but maybe she was just a really good faker.
She picked up again, "She'd like to come and live with us, Severus."
She wanted to bring her little lesbian friend home? He didn't share, dammit, not with anyone. Hermione shouldn't be with anyone else. Not even another woman. He didn't like that kind of thing. At least, not anymore.
"I won't share you." Severus snarled, "I'd rather be alone."
"Oh, I knew this was a stupid way to try and tell you!" Hermione exclaimed suddenly, "but stupid Ginny with her stupid ideas, I hate her! God! I'm not leaving, Severus, unless you kick us out, because I'm not getting rid of her!"
Severus was so confused. Was she with Ginny Weasely? "I suggest you tell me exactly what is going on, Hermione," he hissed, "because I am reaching the end of my tether."
"Well, you see, I told Ginny because I was scared, and Ginny thought if we told you something we thought you would hate worse you would take the real news better. But I didn't want to lie to you, and I did find someone new that is closer to me than you are and wants to come live with us, but it's not a lover, Severus, it's a baby."
Oh. Well. He wasn't entirely sure he wouldn't prefer another partner for bed sport.
