Disclaimer: No, of course I don't own Star Wars or any of its characters, just my poem.

Note:This is supposed to be a monologue Obi-Wan says to Anakin before (or during, as you prefer) their duel on Mustafar. Most of it at least. Please please please leave your reviews as this is my first shot at any kind of poetry.

There is no end

Anakin, beloved child
A lively youth you once were
With sharp mind and fiery heart
My Master in you saw hope
A great light
Perhaps unto the prophecy's fulfilment
Amongst us you were brought
By the wisest you were taught
A great Jedi you should have become
Yet none could tell
The dark way you would choose
The path of living hell

Anakin my friend,
There is no end

Anakin, my apprentice
Time has flown, springs have passed
The child has become a man
Respect through strength and wisdom achieved
Knowledge passed on by master
Experience gained through one's own actions
To great ends we have gone
Great deeds we have done
Together,
By friendship forever bound

Anakin my friend,
There is no end

Anakin, deadly foe
How did we come to this?
We did not see the darkness ahead
Now the storm has begun
No more do your eyes shine with joy
No more does your heart throb with love
Death, hatred, and destruction
Dear Anakin, your mind is overthrown

Sabres alight, together we fight
No more side by side, but against each other
Light against dark, day against night
Oh Anakin, had you listened to me?
So ends wisdom, so ends hope
So ends the prophecy
And so comes the night
Draping all in its endless whispers
The cold darkness that I have long fought
From the depths of the dark side you have brought
Our time is up, destiny has consumed us

Tonight, one must die

Anakin my friend,
This is the end
