Hermione was lost in her thoughts as she walked through the grass field. She was confused by what Ginny had told her earlier. Ron liked her, but he was acting like a coward and pushing her away from him each day.
Hermione needed a plan. She liked him as well, but the problem was not that she was scared of telling him how she felt. It was the fact that Ron seemed to show interest in other girls as well. She'd seen him walk with girls from different houses. She wished she could be the one instead of those girls, but she knew Ron wouldn't give her the chance.
She stopped in her tracks and sat on the ground. There had to be something she could do. A Polyjuice Potion? No, that'd take a long time to prepare. Besides, she didn't have all the needed ingredients. Most of them were locked in Snape's office. And using Harry's invisibility cloak was out of question. She didn't want to draw attention to what she was doing.
She sighed and lay down on the grass. The sky above her was clear and the sun was shining. She closed her eyes and tried to think of something to do. But in vain. Her mind seemed blocked.
"A penny for your thoughts?"
Hermione opened her eyes and saw him. He was standing next to her. His figure blocking the sun's rays from piercing her eyes.
"My thoughts aren't worth it." She replied.
He sat down next to her.
"They worth more than that for me." He said in a whisper.
She sat up and looked at him, which made him smile.
"I know it's kinda too late for me to say this, but…" he paused.
"But, what?" She asked.
He took a deep breath and blushed.
"I like you. And I was wondering if we could… you know." He shrugged.
"Know what?" She managed to hide her smile, but the blush that appeared on her cheeks was enough to give him confidence to continue.
"Would you go to Hogsmeade with me?"
"We always go to Hogsmeade together, Ronald."
"No, I didn't mean that way." He said, and looked into her eyes. "I want us to go to Hogsmeade as a couple. You and me only. No Harry and no Ginny to be around."
This time she smiled. "I thought you'd never ask." She said and pulled him into a hug.
She didn't need a plan anymore. He was there, with her and she hoped she'd never need a plan to make him notice her.
The end
