THE LOVER'S LAST WALK
CHAPTER 1
He had been watching her for awhile. He thought that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He loved the way she ran her fingers through her hair, the way her clothes fit snuggly to her body, leaving nothing to the imagination. He even loved the way she smiled at the bartender bringing her a drink. There wasn't anything about her he didn't like. He had to ask her out.
He had been sitting at the table in the bar for a long time summoning up the courage to finally ask the woman out. He slowly made his way to the bar where the woman sat. He took the seat next to her. "I couldn't help but notice how beautiful you are," he said to her. "Really, how beautiful am I?" asked the woman. "As beautiful as the morning sky." The woman smiled. "May I buy you a drink?" he asked her. "I'm actually waiting for someone." "I'm sure your someone won't mind," he said. The woman turns to see her friend walk into the bar. "I think she would. Here she comes now," said the woman standing to meet her friend. The younger woman kissed her friend on the cheek. It's plain to see that they are more than just friends. "Hi. Can I help you with something?" asked the younger woman. "This gentleman wanted to buy me a drink. But I told him that you were the only one who buys me a drink. He was just leaving. Weren't you?" The man sat there, not knowing what to say. He had just been rejected and he didn't like that. "Yes. I was just leaving," said the man getting up from the bar and heading for the door. He climbed into his car, his blood boiling. He waited for the two women to come out of the bar. He had to do something. No woman gets away with rejecting him. Tonight both women were going to pay.
About two hours had passed when the two women came out of the bar hand in hand. He watched as the two women made their way to their cars. When they had reached the older woman's car, the younger woman kissed her friend. The man saw this and gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. He had finally had enough. He reached under his seat and pulled out a pistol. He stuck it in his jacket pocket and climbed from his car. He quickly made his way to where the two women were. "How dare you reject me! No one rejects me and lives to tell about it!" "Why can't you just leave us alone?" "Because you stole her from me and now you must pay!" The man pulled the gun from his jacket pocket. He pointed the weapon at the women. "Whoa! What are you doing? Put that away," said the younger woman. "Shut up you stupid bitch! If I can't have her, no one can!" replied the man. He pointed his gun at the older woman. He slapped the older woman across the face with the but of his gun. She fell to the ground unconscious. "Baby!" said the younger woman getting to her knees and holding her girlfriends head in her hands. "Please just leave us alone!" "I'm sorry. I can't do that," replied the man. He pointed his gun at the older woman and before he pulled the trigger the younger woman placed her body between the bullet that escaped from the gun and her lover. The younger woman was killed instantly. The man kept firing until there were no bullets left. A single bullet pierced the older woman in the chest. The man stood there for a minute, tears streaming down his face. He placed the gun back into his pocket and ran to his car and speed out of the parking lot.
