Disclaimer: I do not own The OC.

Notes: …um, nothing.

Seth likes watching Trey sleep.

He has no earthly idea why, but it doesn't stop him from sitting in front of the couch, starring openly at Trey's form curled up underneath an afghan.

Trey looks different when he sleeps. Different from what Seth has seen.

When Summer sleeps, she is vulnerable and inviting, two traits that remain mostly unseen during her waking hours. When Marissa sleeps, she looks at ease and she looks soft, different from the tense moments she has during the day. When Ryan sleeps, he looks like he doesn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders, not like he's full of angst and sacrifice. When his parents sleep, they both have the same look of contentment and serenity, instead of the slight strained edges Seth catches them with sometimes.

Trey looks the same as he always does. His features are blank, emotionless, full of apathy, just like they are when his eyes are open. His lips hang a millimeter apart, and he breathes through his mouth, and it's just as easy to think about kissing him right now while he's asleep. His wife beater and jeans look just as natural wrinkled and twisted up around him when he's stretched out on the couch instead of standing or leaning against the wall.

Seth isn't sure what he looks like when he sleeps, but he bets it's not a pretty sight. He knows he rolls around unconsciously, and his hair gets twisted into random angles that make him look like a chia pet, and slobber coats whatever he happens to be leaning on as well as chin. And he cuddles, too, so anything fluffy or warm that is in his near vicinity usually ends up in his Cohen Death Grip of Manliness and Strength, which is strangely only effective when he's sleeping.

But Seth knows that Trey likes watching him sleep, too.

Trey must like it, or he wouldn't have bothered sneaking into Seth's room every night since he arrived to watch Seth sleep.
