Pairing: Russel/Edward
His eyes, those had to be the first thing that attracted Edward to Russel, although he would never admit it. Russel had the clearest blue eyes that he had ever seen, and that accounted for a lot of people. Although it was his eyes that had first caught Edward's attention, it was his mind and body that had soon followed. Russel was the elder brother like Edward himself, the one that held all the burdens on his shoulders.
Fletcher was like Alphonse, young and innocent, but he understood everything that was going on around him. So it seemed that the pair was alike in more ways than one. Alphonse treated Fletcher like family everytime they got together, the two boys laughing and talking nonstop. Edward and Russel, on the other hand, always stole away to Edward's room before their lips locked in an intense kiss.
Their time together was never long, and it was never the heated passion that Edward saw in Roy's eyes when he looked at Riza unguarded. For them it was slow and sweet, but sometimes hurried. Edward could still remember Russel's words concerning his eyes.
"You have eyes like the sun...aijin."
He had blushed at Russel's words, and yet he had never returned them. His lover's eyes rivaled the bluest sky and the deepest oceans. Their gaze was always intense, even when he wasn't serious.
"I'll be your eyes and your ears...I'll help you restore Alphonse to his rightful body...no matter the cost."
"You don't have-"
"Hush, Edward. He means so much to you, and as such me means that much to me...the desire to suceed...your desire to restore him to his body, rivals the desire that you hold for me..."
It had all started after they conversation, and it has yet to end. Sometimes Edward wonders if loving Russel is the right thing to do. When they fight it hurts, and when they are apart it aches. He knows that he could be targeted if anyone found out...so they keep it a secret among themselves and their younger brothers.
Edward knows that if the Colonel knew, he would protect Russel, but that is something that he wants to do himself. So as he lays in his lover's arms he smiles as his desire takes over once again.
