"If you ever need me just cal I'll be there." The man smiled. He handed her a peace of paper and walked off.
Kagome and the man had become good friends and eventually a little more than that. She had called him many times over the years and he her. But he was not there when she needed him the most.
"Top story today a man was killed instantly in a hit and run crash on his way to his girlfriends house. The man was reported to be a nineteen year old native to Japan with black hair by the name of Inuyasha Takahashi. Police are currently on the look out for what witnesses reported…"
Kagome tuned out the news. It was true he had been on his way to see her. It was their two year anniversary and as she sat there in the hospital where his dead body had been brought she toyed with the rings in her fingers. One was a promise ring he bought her last year. The other was the engagement ring he was going to present her with tonight. At a loss for anything else to do Kagome walked outside of the hospital and pulled out her cell phone dialing a special number.
"Hey you reached Inuyasha you know what to do."
Beep
"Hey Inuyasha it's Kagome. I was just calling because you said you'd always be there for me when ever I needed you. Well I need you now. I've always needed you and I always will. Please Inuyasha come back to me. You promised you'd be there…I love you Inuyasha. Bye."
Kagome sat on a bench crying and the wind picked up. And she swore she heard a whisper on the wind and felt a warmth around her much like that of an embrace.
"I'm not gone. I'm right here. I never would break a promise to you. I love you too."
"But you promised you'd be here with me."
"And I always will."
And as she continued to cry the presence left her. But she realized that she would move on. Life moves on and there's no use getting left behind.
