Introduction
A long time ago there was a young dragon named Spyro & his partner, a dragonfly named Sparx who saved the day. There were five dragon families that lived in harmony, until one day Gnasty Gnorc, an unpleasant creature was banished to the dragon junkyard for breaking the rules. This suited him well, since he was an unpleasant creature from the bottom of his dirty boots to the top of his unwashed head.
At the dragon junkyard, Gnasty Gnorc named his surroundings, Gnasty World. He began to fool with magic spells, in which he found two he liked. The spells he considered were turning dragons into crystals and turning their precious gems into Gnorc soldiers, his personal army of minions. The next day, Gnorc divested the Dragon's land by crystallizing all the dragons and by turning the gems into his private army.
Gnasty Gnorc wasn't finished yet though. He turned all the dragon worlds into Gnorc worlds! Spyro who happened to be playing hooky again from school was the only dragon not crystallized. Upon returning home, he saw what Gnasty Gnorc had done. World by world all the dragons were frozen. He went back to his world with Sparx, his trusty companion and began searching his world for the cure to unfreeze his family and friends.
"Well buddy it's just you and me. Lets go unfreeze some dragon and dragonflies, then go beat up Gnasty Gnorc", said Spyro. " I'll help you on your way Spyro but when you get hit, go hit a small creature to release a butterfly so my health is good", buzzed Sparx. Now Spyro, the only unfrozen dragon, must travel all six worlds, including Gnasty's Industrial World to free the dragons and collect their stolen treasure.
The dragons that he frees give him hints along the way, while accompanied by Sparx. Both Spyro and Sparx know that this is the beginning of a hard and challenging adventure.
