Legolas smiled, then made a mock sheepish face and looked down "guiltily". I will get her back for startling me, he thought wryly. He made to lunge at her, but stuck out his foot instead. Almyra tripped as he planned, but she made a wild grab for his arm. Legolas stepped nimbly out of her way, but grabbed hold of her before she fell. She opened her mouth, ready to give a teasing comment, but Legolas shook his head. "Don't. Remember, I'm not the one who almost fell on her bottom." He grinned at her stubborn stare.
Savoring a moment, feeling her grudgingly waiting for him to let go of her arm. He smiled as he pulled her upright. "Don't ever do that agai- she stopped suddenly, feeling his grip tighten on her arm, and she looked into startlingly pale blue eyes. She saw mischief that twinkled merrily, and amusement, but, she paused. The faint expression in his eyes, she didn't know what it was. Strange, but I could have sworn that his eyes weren't that pale… she thought giddily, trying to squirm out of his hold. "Don't…" he said quietly, and looked at her. He leaned forward, holding her shoulders, and pulled her into a soft kiss.
His lips pressed gently against hers, filling them both with warm passion as she fell limp in his arms. Unexpectedly, he pressed harder against her feeling her twist under him then fall reluctantly back in his hold. He sighed mentally, knowing Almyra was falling under his tender love. Dampness wet his face, and he pulled back in shock as he saw tears spilled from her cheeks. "Almyra…" he whispered softly. But she already left, running in confusion at what had just happened.
A moment later, and Almyra stood waiting patiently as Legolas finished packing his things. She had her pack by her side, filled with the few items she owned; her healing pouch, some food provisions and blankets. Her elven cloak was draped elegantly around her shoulders, and her hair was tied back to allow her quiver of arrows and her bow to stay untangled. Legolas saw her for a moment in another's eyes; a fierce warrior. He almost did not believe how she changed. He could only guess of how good a warrior she was; he doubted she was bluffing when she had threatened the heir of Isildur and also Denethor's son.
Aragorn and Boromir… his mind clouded with pain as he remembered again what happened. A rage worse than he ever felt filled him, as he spoke the words he had kept in his mind every day. "I'll…get you for that…no matter what…" he trailed off, still muttering quietly to himself. He jumped suddenly when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him comfortingly. He looked up into a pair of green, anxious eyes and relaxed. He tensed up suddenly as he drifted into past memories.
"Ally, do you promise?" he asked softly. Almyra jumped- where had he gotten her old nickname? "How do you know my— she stopped as a pair of determined blue eyes stared up at her. "Al-ly, do you promise? Promise!" she held back a flinch as his eyes bore into hers. "Do you remember me?" his voice was accusing, almost childlike. Unsure, she replied hesitantly "Of course, I remember you!" she said, hoping she didn't betray the worry inside her. Legolas nodded absentmindedly, replying softly "good, good. Ally, do you promise to always?"
Almyra resisted the perplexed frustration inside her. I don't know what you're talking about! Legolas! Stop and tell me! She resisted the urge to shake him, ask him why was this so important. Instead, she looked at him and asked him the question she was dying to know. "What? Promise to always what?" she managed to make her voice curious and calm, very much not what she felt. Legolas' look was of surprise and puzzled thinking.
"Well, Ally, promise to remember me!" his voice was indignant. Almyra sighed and answered in what she hoped was a happy and reassuring tone. "Of course I will, mellon-nin." She looked down, and saw his eyes staring blankly at he. "Legolas, are you alright?" she asked, but saw no response. She heard a faint rumbling, and looked down to see Legolas…snoring? She chuckled to herself, and leaned back against him, her head resting on his shoulder. "Have a good rest, Legolas…" she murmured.
A/N: Hey y'all, sorry for the short chapter, but I know how frusterating it is to wait DAYS for new chapters. So for now, while I have inspiration and all, it's gonna be shorter chapters. Ps: PLEEASE tell me if you have suggestions, or things you hated or liked about my story. Plot suggestions are good too, even though I have some stuff planned.
wolenczak2004: thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I changed the paragraphing I think it's better. MY FIRST REVIEW YAY! Et aussi, je suis francophone! Je vis en Ontario! C'est bon! Merci pour m'ecrire.
