A.N. This is just a short, one-chapter story of what Hermione would discover if she had stumbled onto the mirror of Erised in the trio's first year.

Hermione's Adventure with the Mirror of Erised
It was a sunny morning at Hogwarts and Harry, Ron and Hermione were each enjoying a hot piece of toast in the Great Hall. After she was done, Hermione decided to get ahead on the homework she had to do. So she headed off to the library.
"See you guys in Defense Against the Dark Arts," she said. She grabbed her bag and headed out to the entrance hall.
"She really works too hard," said Harry.
"I guess," said Ron through a mouthful of toast. "But maybe she's going to start on that Potions essay, and then she would let me copy it."
"Hermione, let you copy her homework?" said Harry with a hint of skepticy in his voice.
"Hey it could happen," replied Ron, but without much hope.
When Hermione got to the library she took out her Potion's book, and began to find material for her essay. As she was paging through her book, without looking where she was going, she wandered into the restricted section of the library. At that precise moment, Filch, the evil caretaker at Hogwarts, came into the library. He spotted Hermione and began to make his way over to her.
Hermione got the feeling as if she were being watched. She looked up and saw Filch making his way over to her. Then she looked up and saw where she was. Not knowing what else to do, she ran for it.
As she went through the hallways, eagerly searching for a place to hide, she saw a room that appeared to be empty. She dashed through the door and quickly hid behind a large mirror at the end of the room. Filch only briefly looked in the room; before he went on to continue his search. As Hermione heard his footsteps fade, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Hermione ducked out from behind her hiding place and saw what she had been hiding behind. It was a huge mirror. At the top of the mirror there were words written in a strange language that she did not recognize. Hermione Granger had discovered the Mirror of Erised.
Thinking it was an ordinary mirror; Hermione looked into it, meaning to check her appearance to make sure that she did not look like she had been running away from Filch. What she saw amazed her.
There stood a witch, dressed in full uniform. The witch was holding a book, which title read, One Million Spells and Such. It was the author of the book that surprised Hermione the most, because it was by . . . Hermione Granger.
Hermione gaped. On closer inspection Hermione saw a medal pinned to the witch's robe. She automatically knew what this award was. Had she not dreamt about one day receiving it? It was an award given out by Dumbledore, to the witch who had positively influenced the wizarding world the most in any given year. The tiny medal only had four things on it; three letters and a date. The letters were H. J. G., and the date was 2020.
This must be her, but was it her from the future? She didn't know if this was the future or only her dreams. Just then a bell sounded signaling that it was time to get to class. Hermione headed out the door. She decided that she would keep her finding to herself until she had discovered what this mirror was.
Perhaps all she need was some more time in the Library.
A.N. So what do you think? This is my first story so any feedback would be helpful, and greatly appreciated. Thanks.
