Why Was I the One?

Suddenly
As I reach for your hand
You have vanished
Into the dark

Hours later I awake
In a brighly lit city,
With a key in my hand,
Laying in an alley-way

Thoughts race though my head
As I ponder all I've been through
What had happened to my home?
Why was I the one
To save us all
From the dark?
