An Auror Never Dies
Chapter two
.Rowan.
This is Rowan Alexander Barrek at age 20:
Hogwarts alumni. Graduated Auror. Loving, devoted son, tried and true friend. He is nine months out of Auror training-still fresh. But he is one of the most promising graduates they've had in a long time. His instincts are sharp and his reactions just as capable. He thinks logically, methodically. He possesses a wide girth of knowledge of the Dark Arts and of history both Muggle and magical. His strength is quite formidable, and his quiet reserve and skills in combat have made him a favorite Auror of the Department.
Rowan is smart.
He is strong.
He is amicable.
He is a talented Wizard with unflappable morals.
But at the same time, he is mostly quiet. Rowan spends his free time reading, mostly. He never wastes an opportunity to increase his knowledge. His genre of choice is history, having excelled at it in his school career (his history grade was second only to his Defense Against the Dark Arts grade).
Rowan isn't sure why Death Eaters are the way they are. But Rowan believes everyone has a story. He believes in cause and effect. The logical explanation. Something must have happened to them. Maybe they didn't get enough love in their childhood. Rowan got plenty of that- he never felt jaded or cheated out of something better.
Simple cause and effect: Rowan had a good childhood. He is an only child; his parents were loving and just. He went to Hogwarts and excelled at his studies. In fact, Rowan excelled in just about everything he did and everything he chose to be. So Rowan felt no need to grasp power, no need to seek revenge upon the world. He worked for a cause that pursued the greater good. He works for justice and peace. It's ideal. He's a soldier. He's a fighter. He is intelligent and talented.
Currently, Rowan is excelling at life in general.
Because Voldemort was in power.
And Rowan Barrek is an Auror.
