He awoke to see a breathtaking angel. She was sat by his bedside, the Infirmary lights dimmed during the night.
"Hey..."
Carter jumped, her eyes flitting to him immediately. Suddenly her sapphire eyes filled with tears...
She swiped her tears away, "I thought you were dead when you were shot... how does that make any sense!"
He croaked softly, "Well... It didn't hit you."
Her eyes, blue caverns to her soul, widened as she whispered, "And that made sense?"
"Perfectly."
She sighed sadly, "Perfect nonsense."
"Not if you're in love..."
Their eyes met... and she smiled softly, "Yeah... I know."
