Prologue The mist grew thinner as the HMS Gratifier sailed along the dock. As we neared my new home, I grew more angry and bitter by the minute. I had been caught and it was a fate I would need to live with. Not only had I been caught, I had been caught by the man my parents had assigned to be a secondary caretaker. My other caretaker (also my godfather) who, I called affectionately uncle had disappeared .Whereabouts of my brother were unknown as well. But then again how can I complain? At seventeen I had more adventures then some seventy year olds. At seventeen I could be married. But now I was to become a proper hoity-toity of society. To forget about my bloody future for a while, I began to whistle an old pirate tune. I was about to become lost in a reverie when that pig-faced bighead called Lieutenant Penn approached me. Turning to him I smiled falsely. "Can I help you?" I asked sweetly. He looked at me dubiously. "The captain wishes to see you before we dock." He said eying me sourly. I think he may have wanted to say more but I walked away quickly. The captain's quarters are a bit to well swanky if you ask me. Save for the fact I hated this ship and the crew, I liked Captain Burton. He was the only one who did not treat me like some prisoner. He looked at me seriously and asked me to sit. "Alright Miss, we've reached Port Royale. Be on your best behavior you hear? You could, and rightfully should be hanged." He said monotonely. He continued. "But lucky for you has Admiral decided to raise so please show your gratitude." "Captain you have looked after me and I am grateful to you, more then I can say for him." I murmured. We shook hands and in a bustle of confusion. I was on the pier.I looked out into the sea and sighed. I was on the verge of tears as I walked to the fort as I was instructed .I knew I could run but something kept me back. I felt lost and outraged. I felt as I though I could scream forever but I didn't. I fixed my falling bandana instead.Minutes past and an ivory-colored carriage stopped in front of me. Out walked the man I dreaded most. Admiral Norrington. When he saw me he smiled. "Welcome Miss Turner to Port Royale." He said cheerfully
