My first fanfic! Or fan-poem, actually. I found this while going through a notebook full of some of my old poetry, and realized how much the girl in the poem sounded like Luthien Tinuviel. Maybe I was actually thinking of her while I wrote it? I can't remember.

Actually, this could describe Arwen, too.

Most people will probably catch this, but I feel I should mention that I got the title for the poem from a line in one of the stanzas in the song of Beren and Luthien in the Fellowship of the Ring, Chapter XI
(A Knife in the Dark).

Discaimer: I do not own the character portrayed in this poem; she belongs to Tolkien and his estate.

Hair Like Shadows

A crown of silver lace and stars

Glitters through the gloom.

Bright eyes twinkle as she twirls,

Hair rippling in shadowy curls,

Spilling onto the ground.

Arms move like wisps of smoke in the wind;

Twilight follows them like a cloak.

Born in the shadows of the moon

In a place hidden from the world of green,

Luna's daughter-

Queen of Evening.
