"Keep 'em shut."
"Rose, what are y-"
"Shut it or else I'll guide you right into the wall!"
"But -"
"Shush!"
Left, right, left. As far as he could tell, Rose had managed to steer him from his bedroom onto a corridor, then turned right, then left. Another right, before she stopped, apparently thinking, before groaning about how the TARDIS had "gone and bloody switched things around again". He had tried to hit her, only playfully, in defence of his ship - missing her arm and hitting a column near by.
"How's your hand?"
"Painful."
"Na-aw, diddums."
With her hands over his eyes, she ushered the Doctor into the main area of the TARDIS, hurriedly squeezing past - he was getting anxious, antsy and irritatingly agitated. "You know, I don't take too kindly to this. You could be leading me anywhere."
"What, don't you trust me? You can open them now by the way."
"Of course I - oh wow."
She grinned, sheepishly shrugging her shoulders. "I didn't know when your birthday was, or if you even have a birthday, but I decided you needed one - a uh...a birthday party anyway. There's..." she waved her hand over to the various desserts sitting atop the controls. "There's cake and...and stuff. And party poppers. I could only get five balloons - the bloke in the shop said they ran out of the multi-pack ones. You know, the ones with the different lengths and they stretch all different and stuff -"
"Rose?"
"Yeah?"
"Shut it."
Flashing her a smile, he beamed, glancing around at the room. As well as the chocolate cake near the centre, there were cherry-bakewells, red jelly with what looked like melted vanilla ice-cream; and the five blue and green balloons Rose had incessantly babbled on about. Candles were perched into the chocolate cake, unlit - Rose had explained that she was going to add more, he was over nine hundred after all, as he took in the appearance of his beloved ship. "Just so you know, I haven't got nine hundred candles, so don't think I'm putting that many on! Anyway...happy birthday. Ish. I got you uh...I got you a present."
His eyes lit up. "A present!"
"Yeah um..." she bit her lip, walking slowly over towards the Doctor, before reaching up and planting a kiss upon his lips. "That."
